I’m buying one business to run forever.

Nice to meet you! Thanks for taking a look at my website.

I currently work at Epic Systems in Madison, WI. I grew up in Redmond, WA and went to college in Santa Barbara, CA. Outside of work I love to stay active by playing tennis and working out. I love to read and learn new things and spend time with my friends and family.

My career has taken me from being a cashier at Chick-fil-A (it was my pleasure) to geophysics research to project management in enterprise healthcare software implementation. The common thread through it all has been an intense passion for teaching myself business. I’ve tried to absorb as much as I can from countless business books and biographies, conversations with real operators, and thousands of hours of podcasts.

I’ve also led teams in the kind of situation a new owner faces after an acquisition. When I moved into healthcare, I had no prior experience in the industry. Within two months, I was leading a team of technical analysts through an enterprise software implementation. I quickly learned how to earn the confidence of the operational and clinical leaders I worked alongside, even as an outsider, with an ability to ‘figure it out’. It was incredibly challenging and could hurt like hell, but I grew through it, and I’m chasing more of that.

My goal is to buy one company to hold forever. While I will shape the business around my vision for the future, I want to preserve the legacy that you are leaving in delighting customers, helping employees build careers, and benefiting the community.

Getting to close

  1. Introductions

Learning if we are a good fit.

  2. Reviewing initial financials

Three years of P&Ls, balance sheets and tax returns.

  3. Letter of Intent

A written offer with price, structure and timeline. Sets the terms we both work from and starts an exclusivity period.

  4. Due diligence

My accountant verifies the numbers. My attorney reviews contracts, leases and liabilities.

  5. Finalizing SBA financing

The loan package goes to the lender with the diligence findings.

  6. Sign the purchase agreement

The binding contract: final price, what’s included, representations and warranties. Drafted by attorneys on both sides.

  7. Closing day

Funds transfer, ownership changes hands, and the sale proceeds hit your account.

  8. Transition together

I’m on site full time from day one. We agree the handover period up front.
